Barbra Figueroa

Homeowner/Hospitality Coordinator

barbra@blueprintministry.com

Barbra has been a volunteer here at Blueprint for the last 14 years while she was still a teacher with the San Antonio Independent School District. The school she taught at was in the same locale as Blueprint, so she was very familiar with the area and the wonderful people residing in the downtown neighborhoods. She retired from teaching after 34 years and naturally wanted to become more involved with Blueprint. She has cooked for campers, delivered popsicles, and even called BINGO games during summer camps. She is currently working as the Homeowner/Hospitality Coordinator here at Blueprint Ministry. She states, “The best part of this job is making new friends with all our visiting campers and building relationships with our sweet homeowners.”

Barbra earned a BS in Elementary Education from Texas State University in 1989 and a Master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in 2010. She has three grown daughters, Cassandra, Hannah and Julia. She loves her animals which include 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 9 chickens! She is also involved with Children’s Advocates of San Antonio as a court-appointed advocate for children in the system. She still loves bringing her family and friends to serve dinners to hungry campers.

Nick Janzen

construction Director

nick@blueprintministry.com

Nick originally served at Blueprint as a construction intern in the summer of 2019 after his freshman year at Texas A&M University. He immediately connected with the mission and felt called to return in the summer of 2022 when he led construction at Blueprint as Construction Manager. After his graduation from Texas A&M with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Nick returned once again as a full-time member of the Blueprint staff in the role of Construction Director.

Born and raised in Roseville, California, Nick’s passion for hands-on service was fostered by youth-led mission trips both across the state and in Mexico. His skills in construction were developed while working with his father (a long-time general contractor) and while serving with BUILD at Texas A&M University. BUILD is a student-led non-profit that converts 40-foot shipping containers into medical clinics that are shipped to international communities in need. While in BUILD, Nick served as a web developer, COO, and CEO.

In his role as Construction Director, Nick oversees construction projects at Blueprint from home selection and project evaluation to camp construction and final walkthroughs. He enjoys teaching and guiding students and interns to gain practical skills and make an impact in the San Antonio community.
